Award Winning Quarter Horses
Shoot Em All Down
'Cher'
2022 Brown
Written By Ryan A. Fleetwood
While this filly is not yet in production, she's one we are sure excited about! She's sired by the Thoroughbred stallion Fed Biz, a son of Giants Causeway who earned about three quarters of a million dollars on the track!
Her mother is a daughter of Playgun, out of a daughter of Grays Starlight, with her distaff side to Docs Hickory and Docs Prescription. It is my theory that if I'm going to breed to a TB stallion, he needs to be a sprinting type horse, because that's what the Quarter Horse is. I also want to use the most typey QH mares under him, in order to inject as much of that as is possible. Then the goal is to take the resulting progeny and they will get bred back to something strongly QH/cowhorse type again, working towards maintaining some of the height, length of stride, length of neck, movement, wither, etc. from the TB. After all, why does the registry allow outcrossing to just one breed? Because the TB is a very old breed and has some characteristics we can use in the further development of our breed, especially in todays world of such focus on discipline specific breeding.
Watch for future Fleetwood foals from Cher!!
